This week we read the story of The Three Little Pigs and we all enjoyed joining in with the repetition. Our role play is the little pigs house and we have been imagining we are the characters from the story.
In maths we have been learning about 2D shapes and using maths words such as straight ,curved and the same length.
" A rectangle has 2 short sides and 2 long sides" Toby.
We are enjoying our reading books and this week we have started phonics. We have been revisiting the sounds s a t and p. Please look for these sounds in the reading books.
We are looking forward to celebrating the school's 50th birthday on Monday. We shall be making party crowns and going into the hall for a special birthday in the afternoon.
The home learning is to decorate an envelope for Harvest Festival and include a small donation. Thank you.

Who's been eating my porridge?
This week we started our topic work,Once Upon a Time. We read the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and we all enjoyed joining in using different voices. In Learning Through Play some of the children made their own books drawing pictures and writing the character names.
In Maths we used maths words to describe and compare the height and size of the bears. We used words such as taller, shortest, smaller than.
Next week in maths we shall be learning about 2D shapes.
Thank you if you have volunteered to help in class, we can never have too much help , so if you would like to help particularly with cooking please speak with Mrs Bentley.
Don't forget our school 50th birthday celebration on 2nd October, it would be lovely to see you. The Home Learning this week is to decorate the bunting which was sent home on Friday.

Settling In
We have all had a very enjoyable week settling into and getting each other, and making new friends
Today we went to our first Celebration Assembly and Mrs Bentley was pleased with how we all did some really good listening. We were given Paddington Bear, as we had the most children attend school this week.
We feel very grown up as we have been coming into school independently.
Our Learning Owl this week is Grace who has been practising and has met her next step in her learning. We hope you have fun this weekend with Otto Owl.
Have a relaxing weekend.
